Min: Higher prices of imported electronics to give chance to local

MOSCOW, Mar 12 (PRIME) -- The situation on the world markets will hike prices of technological imports, but will give a chance to the Russian manufacturers, Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev told reporters on Thursday.

“It’s clear that foreign products will rise (in price), nobody revises budgets for us, and we hope the Russian makers will get additional competitive advantages on the internal market,” Shadayev said.

The ruble has dramatically lost ground against the U.S. dollar and the euro after a failure of the OPEC plus agreement.

The minister also said the coronavirus pandemic has opened a window of opportunities for domestic online services, including in education and healthcare.

“We have many Russian systems, which are on the register that provide video conference services,” Shadayev said.
